Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Goodcare collects, uses, discloses, stores, shares, and deletes personal data
when you visit our website, create an account, search for care services, or offer professional care services
through our platform.
Goodcare is a home-care matching platform. We help people find and connect with care professionals for services
such as nursing care at home, companionship at home, exclusive hospital care, live-in home support, and physiotherapy.
We design our practices to comply with applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

- People seeking care for themselves or a family member (“care seekers”)
- Professionals who create accounts to offer care services (“professionals”)
- Anyone who contacts Goodcare for support
Our services are intended for adults. If you create an account or request care on behalf of another person
(for example an elderly relative), you confirm that you are authorized to provide their details and that they
(or their legal representative) agree to this processing where required by law.

3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Account data: first name, last name, email address, phone number, password (hashed), profile photo
- Role information: whether you are seeking care or offering professional services
- Service / search details: type of care needed or offered, preferred location/area, availability, notes you choose to include in a search or profile
- Professional profile data: services offered, experience descriptions, and other details you publish to help care seekers find you
- Support messages: content you send when contacting us
Please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive medical details. Goodcare is a matching and coordination platform;
we are not your medical record keeper. Share only what is needed to describe the type of care you are looking for
or offering.
3.2 Information from Google sign-in
If you choose “Sign in with Google”, we receive basic account information from Google such as your verified email,
name, Google user identifier, and profile picture, solely to create or authenticate your Goodcare account.
We do not receive your Google password.
3.3 Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser type, device and operating system
- Pages viewed, approximate access times, and diagnostic/error logs
- Session cookies and similar technologies needed for login, security, and language preference
3.4 Location information
When you use map or “nearby” features, we may process location information you provide (such as an address or area)
or approximate location needed to show relevant professionals or search results. Exact device GPS is used only if
you explicitly allow it in your browser/device.
4. How we use information
- Create and secure your account
- Match care seekers with relevant professionals based on service type, location, and preferences
- Display professional profiles and search results to authorized users of the platform
- Enable communication and notifications related to searches, offers, and support
- Improve reliability, prevent fraud/abuse, and keep the service secure
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use care-related information for advertising networks
or sell contact lists of care seekers or professionals.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract: to provide the matching platform and account features you request
- Consent: for optional features such as Google sign-in, certain notifications, or device location access
- Legitimate interests: securing the platform, preventing abuse, and improving service quality — balanced against your rights
- Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law
6. Sharing and disclosure
We may share personal data only with:
- Other platform users, as needed for matching: for example, a professional may see relevant details from a care seeker’s search, and a care seeker may see a professional’s public profile information
- Service providers that help us host, operate, send emails/messages, authenticate users (e.g. Google), or secure Goodcare — under appropriate confidentiality / data-processing terms
- Authorities when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security
Care arrangements agreed between a care seeker and a professional are primarily between those parties.
Goodcare is not responsible for how either party handles personal data outside the Goodcare platform.
7. Retention
- Account data: while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for security, dispute, and legal purposes
- Searches / service offers: while needed to operate the feature and for a limited period afterward
- Support messages and logs: for as long as needed to handle requests and maintain security
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymize it.
8. Your rights and choices
Under GDPR and applicable Greek law, you may request to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your personal data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive a portable copy of data you provided
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing)
You can update many account details in your account settings.

or [email protected].
You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority
(www.dpa.gr).
9. Security
- TLS encryption in transit
- Hashed passwords and authenticated sessions
- Access controls for account data
- Monitoring and safeguards against abuse
No online service is completely secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that affects you,
we will notify you and the competent authority as required by law.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, security, and language preference.
You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.
11. Children’s privacy
Goodcare is not directed at children under 16 creating their own accounts.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 for account registration.
If you believe a child has provided us personal data inappropriately, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
Goodcare primarily serves users in Greece and the EU. If personal data is transferred outside the EEA
(for example through a subprocessors’ infrastructure), we use appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
13. Third-party services
Goodcare may integrate with third-party services (for example Google authentication, maps providers, or messaging tools).
Those services have their own privacy policies. Please review them before connecting or using those features.
